Nolan Pielak
SVP, International Distribution & Co-Production
Primarily based in Vancouver, Nolan Pielak is the Head of Canadian Operations for Electric Entertainment, serving as Senior Vice President of International Distribution and Co-Production for Electric Distribution BC Inc since 2014.
While playing an instrumental role in building Electric’s international division with his feature film acquisitions such as ‘Blackway’ starring Anthony Hopkins and ‘An Ordinary Man’ starring Ben Kingsley, Pielak’s specialty is now primarily in TV series, handling sales and distribution in Canada and foreign territories on current Amazon original series “Leverage: Redemption” and “Almost Paradise” (both with CTV Drama in Canada) as well as the hugely popular new SYFY series “The Ark,” (CTV Sci-Fi in Canada). Next up will be the new re-boot of Electric’s signature hit series “The Librarians”, which Pielak helped launch in 2014, bringing in key broadcast deals from Canada, Europe, and Asia.
Pielak has 25 years in international distribution, gaining a unique expertise in family entertainment stemming from his years as Head of International Distribution for Keystone Entertainment handling popular Disney franchises of Air Bud and Air Buddies, as well as with Canada’s Joker Films, where he Exec Produced and handled worldwide distribution on a number of successful family features. He previously handled foreign sales on wide-release studio theatrical features such as “Whole Nine Yards” and “Heist” during an exciting five years with Franchise Pictures in Los Angeles, preceded by his tenure at Dove/NewStar, where he got his start in the international TV/film business.
Nolan graduated with a BFA degree in Film & Video at University of Regina in Canada. He currently resides in Vancouver, BC with his wife and three children.
